Verdant Summer
My horse lives in the field outside my cottage window and I get the pleasure of seeing her in early morning light and as day turns to night. At 21 she is a happy camper. She has DSLD - an uncommon degenerative disease that makes her unridable so I sold my beloved treeless saddle several years ago. I often think she's faking it as I was her haul buns across the pasture with her best friend, Squirrel. Darn, I miss that saddle and riding.
This piece was juried into the Teeny Tiny Trifecta 5 exhibition at Second Street Gallery Charlottesville, VA in September and will be available then.
Original mixed media painting on wood panel. Acrylic, ink, graphite, collage and finished with cold wax to give it a matte, stone-like finish.
